Description

Princess Elizabeth never expected to be Queen. But when she was ten, her uncle, King Edward VIII, abdicated and everything changed… Her father took over as King, but after 15 years on the throne, he died. So when she was just 25 years old, Elizabeth was crowned Queen and became the longest-serving monarch in British history.

This inspiring children’s biography of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) chronicles key moments in her life. It also highlights her Christian faith, in particular what she has said in her Christmas Day speeches.

Young children will learn more about the incredible life and faith of Britain’s longest-serving monarch and they will be inspired about the great things they can do for God.

“We love this series!”

The Do Great Things for God series is one of our favorites! I love that these books teach about faithful women of God, they don’t have any sort of feminist agenda and they give my girls faithful godly women to look up to. My daughter (6 yrs old) LOVES anything about princesses or queens, so she begged for this book. This book follows Queen Elizabeth through the years from her childhood throughout her reign. When the story came to her coronation it said that she was given the Crown Jewels to wear, but that she was also given a Bible, “the most valuable thing that this world affords.” The book includes quotes from her Christmas messages through the years that were filled with her faith! Queen Elizabeth was an amazing and dedicated woman of faith, this book is a great introduction to her life and faith.

Im so thankful for this book series that has introduced my girls to so many women of faith! 💞

“Pray for me…that I may faithfully serve God and you, all the days of my life.” Queen Elizabeth II (Christmas message 1952)

“Highlights the faith of a leader”

I love this series for highlighting many different types of service to God, from missionaries to standing strong in war to serving for the greater good. And that is the story that is told of Queen Elizabeth II. Giving a concise bio of her life and the circumstances that led to her taking the throne, kids are introduced to a woman who spent her entire life in service to another - something every follower of Christ is called to do, from the highest monarchy to the lowest servant.

“Inspiring Story”

I love reading this book to my 2 year old, and she loves it! She will pick it out from her book basket and ask to read the "Queen book." I am so thankful for this series as a positive alternative to Disney princesses.

“Go for it!”

I no longer have the book in front of me as a reference, as it was eagerly received by a small posse of grandchildren. I do know, however, that this small book is pleasing in big ways. The authors skilfully present a serious topic with an appealing lightness of heart, missing nothing (it seems to me) of significance; handling appropriately things less than meritorious; & effectively embracing a range of participants from the very young (the graphics are 'just right') all the way to the very old, who would love to be thought wise, & discover in these pages a very pleasurable way of becoming better informed! I'm grateful to the authors.
