What happens when a great storyteller gets his hand on "the greatest story ever told"? Bob Hartman’s The Kingdom And The King Storybook Bible is the answer! Bob has a knack of getting to the heart of the story. This selection of stories, skilfully expressed and creatively written, brings together the big story of Scripture in a delightful way.

Bob has managed to capture the beautiful Bible narrative in a fresh accessible way. The stories of old have a new lease of life which will inspire a new generation; plus us older ones reading it to them will get a different perspective on stories that we know so well. The illustrations complement the writing perfectly, symbiotically bringing the word of God alive once again.

Being long-time fans of the Tales that Tell the Truth series, we were looking forward to Catalina’s illustrations for this storybook Bible and they did not disappoint! They are detailed and captivating, robust and powerful, and appropriate for children while still being interesting to adults.

I love this Bible! It’s written for younger children (I’d say ages 3 and up, though older kids could read it independently), yet the text is meaningful enough for the whole family to enjoy. With 70 stories spanning from Creation to Revelation, it makes a perfect bedtime read or family devotional.

Flipping through it, I was delighted to find that it includes several lesser known stories rather than focusing only on the most familiar ones.
