“We love this one”

I was quick to pick this up after buying the God's Big Promise storybook Bible for my big kids. We have a toddler who loves to destroy books, so I knew we would need something more sturdy if we wanted to have him participate in our Easter Study. This book was a perfect fit. The text is simple, the material is unbreakable, and the illustrations are appropriate (something I always am wary of when looking for Easter resources). This is a good gift for toddlers.

“Encounter Jesus”

This delightful board book by Carl Laferton is perfect to share the Easter story with your children! It uses Jennifer Davison’s illustrations from God’s Big Promises Bible Storybook - a book that I read with my children every night.

Encounter Jesus

I found this book to be a great way to showcase this story and how it stands out from all the others in the Bible. With vibrant art and simple sentences, this book will engage your children to help them encounter Jesus in the Easter story.

“Simple text and bright illustrations. Perfect for toddlers”

With stunning illustrations, this Easter board book is perfect for ages 0-3 filled with simple language to introduce your little one to the events of Easter. It's adapted from the storybook bible "God's Big Promises."

If you are looking for a gift for little hands this Easter, this board book would be perfect.

Please note it does not address the details of the cross as this board book is meant for very little ones. Although there is much more depth in the Easter story and the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, this book hits important highlights and is a great resource for the tiniest of wee ones.

“Perfect for my little”

I picked this book because I wanted to show my 2 year old the meaning of Easter but didn't know how to explain it to someone this young. This book is perfect for my little one. It has engaging, large pictures but it also uses simple language for my kid to understand. I look forward to reading this to him in celebration of our Lord's death and resurrection.

“Lovely First Easter Storybook”

This is a retelling of the Easter story (Palm Sunday, the last supper, Gethsemane, the cross, the empty tomb and Jesus appearing to friends after resurrection), written in short and simple text with engaging pictures. We own the Bible storybook from the same series and are enjoying it, and this sturdy little board book is perfect for our 1yo - it's faithfully told and the story length is perfect her age. Makes a wonderful Easter gift for babies and toddlers.

Since the story jumps very quickly from one scene to another, it may be helpful if a Note to Grown Ups/ a download freebie were included with Bible passages to look up, or a blurb that explains how the stories connect.

“Excellent”

This board book introduces Easter to young children, with simple text from Carl Laferton and colorful illustrations from Jennifer Davison. This contains adapted material from the "God's Big Promises Bible Storybook," simplifying the content for younger children while still covering the whole story.

I am impressed with how thorough this sixteen-page board book is. It spans from Palm Sunday to Jesus's resurrection and reunion with his friends, and it covers a lot of details in between, even Jesus's conversation with the repentant thief dying on the cross next to him. "God's Big Promises: Easter for Little Ones" is short and simple, and it bypasses multiple violent details while still honest about the reality of Good Friday.

I appreciate how this book balances age-appropriateness and accuracy, instead of just rushing to the resurrection. This book also conveys a gospel message, teaching that Jesus is our king, and that because of his death, we can be friends with God and live forever. I would recommend this to families with young children who are looking for a faithful, thorough portrayal of the Easter story.

“Simple and sweet”

This is an introductory board book to the Easter story. It is simple and sweet with beautiful illustrations.
While I would have loved to see a deeper dive into the work Jesus did on the cross, and why: I still think it’s a great stepping stone resource for little ones.
This book conveys the simple truths about why we celebrate Easter, and I think it would make a lovely gift for toddlers.

“great book for toddler age”

I've had the privilege of reading several of the books in the God's Big Promises series and all have been wonderful reads for children. This Easter version is no exception.

This version is specifically a board book meant for very little ones such as toddlers. The words are simple and easy to understand. Although there is much more depth to the Easter events than what is displayed in this book, it hits on all the important highlights that are just enough for toddler age. The children will learn about the donkey, the last supper, the cross, the thief on the cross next to Jesus receiving salvation, the empty tomb, Thomas' doubt and Jesus alive again.

The illustrations are beautiful and eye-catching, just like the the others in the series.

I do wish the author would have included one page of additional content or resources for parents to utilize in order to deepen the story and allow for further conversations or engagement with their children. This could have consisted of bible verses, reflection questions or even simple activities to do at home.
