Simply the best

You've tried other daily devotional aids - now try the best! Ever since its introduction way back when I was a student, Explore has been outstanding for the way it gets your eyes, mind and heart into the Bible. Unlike some publications, you don't get some writer's "blessed thoughts" but are drawn into Scripture and helped both to understand and apply. As a side benefit, I always keep back issues for help with preparing small group bible studies.

Great help!

It's a really helpful guide. I like the fact that it also tackles books of the Bible that are difficult to understand, but that it keeps alternating them with other passages. It also has a good balance between the Old and the New Testament. The applications are useful too.

Reliable Resource

Trying once more to dedicate daily times with God, this seems to be a reliable resource. I like the added prompt to read the bible again in one year.

Fantastic supplement to daily Bible reading; highly recommended!

This is my 3rd subscription renewal of Explore! It is a fantastic supplement to my daily reading of the Bible and I intend to renew my annual subscription until the Lord calls me home. (Note to TGBC - any lifetime subs offers?). I recommend Explore Notes to all who want to enhance their daily quiet times with the Lord.

Frustration

Generally the material and questions are quite useful and thought provoking but I feel frustrated as a lot of the qu's I don't know the answers. I think you should provide more hints, pointers and food for thought if not the answers for a struggling Christian like me.
For example I found the passages on 25 Mar very difficult. I have no idea who is talking in Psalm 2, what the kings are in relation to Jesus and how it prophesises the coming of Jesus.

Helps me start the day with the Lord

I find the Explore notes help me to understand and apply the Bible as well as helping me to be disciplined about setting time aside to meet with the Lord.

Kick started my bible reading

These notes have really helped to kick start my bible reading. 15 minutes over breakfast and I'm set up for the day ahead. Excellent notes really help to explore the passage.

Makes you look deeper into the passage

I am enjoying these Bible notes. I appreciate the way they ask questions that encourage me to take a second or third look at the passage. I have also enjoyed the mix of passages including Paul's letters, gospels and wisdom literature in 6 weeks. The section on 2 Corinthians was particularly good.

well structured but patronising

'Explore' will be good for those who need a steady study guide that is focused and in manageable chunks. However, some might find the questions, the applications and even the hints at what to pray for too prescriptive. I find it actually prevents me from really engaging with God's word.
